Residex grows sales team in Florida, Georgia

RESIDEX-LOGOResidex added eight new salespeople to its team serving Florida and Georgia.

Chad Martin has been named territory manager for Residex’s turfgrass division in Northern Florida and Southern Georgia. Martin previously served as territory manager for Direct Solutions, and he is a member of the Florida Pest Management Association (FPMA), North Florida Golf Course Superintendent Association (NFGCSA) and the Florida Turf Grass Association (FTGA). He graduated from the University of Florida (UF) with a degree in agriculture management, soil and water science.

Fred Hemming has been selected to serve as territory manager in West Central Florida for Residex’s turfgrass division. Hemming brings to Residex more than 26 years of experience in turf management. Prior to joining Residex, Hemming served as territory sales manager for Direct Solutions. He is a state-certified Pest Control Operator and member the Golf Course Superintendent Association’s (GCSAA) Suncoast, Westcoast and Ridge chapters. He also is a member of FTGA and FPMA.

Gary Morgan has been hired to serve as territory manager for the area between Palm Bay and Amelia Island, Fla., for Residex’s turfgrass division, also joining the company from Direct Solutions. He has 19 years of experience in the industry and has been recognized by his peers with several awards. In 2003, Morgan received the Larry Kamphaus Award from the Central Florida Golf Course Superintendent Association’s (CFGCSA). He also was awarded the Butch Singo Award from NFGCSA in 2014. In addition to the CFGCSA and the NFGCSA, he also is a member of the Florida GCSAA and the Florida FTGA. Morgan graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in turf management.

Richard Newman, formerly of Direct Solutions, has been brought on board to serve as a territory manager for Orlando, Ocala, Gainesville and North Tampa, Fla. He is Professional Landcare Network– (PLANET-) certified and is a specialist in warm-season Bermudagrass. Newman holds memberships with the CFGCSA and the Seven Rivers Golf Course Superintendent Association. Newman graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in agriculture management.

Bayardo Herrera has been hired by Residex to serve as territory manager for the turfgrass divisions in West Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade, Fla. Herrera has more than 33 years of experience in the industry—he previously was employed at Direct Solutions for nearly a decade. He is state-certified in lawn and ornamentals and general household pest and rodent control. He also is PLANET-certified. Herrera is a member of the FPMA, the Certified Pest Control Operators of Florida and the Florida Nursery, Growers, and Landscape Association.

Jason Sherwood also comes from Direct Solutions, joining Residex’s turfgrass division as territory manager for Southwestern Florida, from Naples to Ft. Meyers. He is a member of the FTGA, the Everglades Golf Course Superintendent Association and the Calusa Golf Course Superintendent Association. Sherwood is a graduate of UF with a degree in agriculture, specializing in turfgrass science.

Chris Gast has been hired to serve as the territory manager for Deerfield Beach, Fla. For the past 12 years he has been working in the industry as a superintendent and director of golf at clubs such as Harbour Ridge and Martin Downs in Martin County. For the past five years he also has served on the Treasure Coast Golf Course Superintendents Association’s executive board. Gast graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in horticulture.

Bud Brown comes to Residex with more than 26 years of experience in the green industry—a deal of which also was gained at Direct Solutions. He will be responsible for turf sales in Atlanta, Georgia. A member of the Urban Ag Council, Brown is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
