NALP announces recipients of Safety Recognition Awards

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) announced the recipients of this year’s Safety Recognition Awards. TCIA reports 92 fatal tree care incidents in ’16

The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) recorded 153 tree care-related occupational incidents in calendar year 2016. Ninety-two of them were fatal, compared with 79 in 2013, 81 in 2014 and 87 in 2015. The association compiles this data from media accounts of accidents. OSHA cites Indiana company for heatstroke death of 23-year-old

Federal investigators from the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited an Indiana landscaping company, Townsend Tree Service, for the heatstroke death of a 23-year-old crewmember, according to an OSHA document.
