Project EverGreen to celebrate National GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week June 10-16

To raise awareness of the ongoing need for basic lawn care and landscape services for families of deployed military personnel and post 9/11 veterans with service-connected disabilities, Project EverGreen recognizes June 10-16 as GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week.

The program, which marks its 12th year in 2018, has seen more than 11,000 military families and veterans register to receive an estimated $8 million in donated lawn care and landscape services from more than 6,000 green industry professionals.

“The connection our volunteers have with military families and/or disabled veterans they are matched with can be very personal and meaningful,” says Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “Not only are our volunteers providing a valued service and relieving a burden, but they are also creating an environment where military families and disabled veterans can reconnect with two powerful forces—their families and nature.”
