PLANET directs the Green Industry to safety resources for NAOSH Week

|

The North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week is held May 4–10, and the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pointing the Green Industry toward some of its resources as part of the celebration.

The organization encouraged landscape professionals to partake in its free safety program, available in English or Spanish to anyone in the industry. The program was funded by the Susan Harwood grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and will help companies train workers to meet OSHA safety standards.

PLANET also offers the STARS Safe Company Program, which helps landscape companies lower their total costs of risk by reducing hazards and injuries.

The goal of NAOSH Week is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community—NAOSH Week events and activities are coordinated nationwide by local and/or regional committees.

For more information on PLANET’s safety programs, visit the Safety & Risk Management section on PLANET’s website or call the PLANET office at 800-395-2522. For NAOSH tools and information, go to www.asse.org/naosh.
