The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) held its annual Awards of Excellence ceremony during Landscapes 2017 on Oct. 19. NALP’s Awards of Excellence offer national recognition for the best work in commercial and residential landscape design, installation, maintenance and interior plant work.
This year, 136 recipients were awarded with Awards of Excellence.
From the 52 Grand award-winning projects, three were selected for the highest honor, the Judges Awards:
- Walnut Hill Landscape Company—Annapolis, Md.
- Southern Botanical—Dallas, Texas
- David J. Frank Landscape Contracting—Milwaukee, Wis.
Advocacy Awards were awarded to three people for their work in helping represent and defend the interests of the industry.
Community Partnership Awards were awarded to six companies for their leadership in helping restore or revive their communities or other communities.
Environmental Stewardship Awards were awarded to two companies for their work in enhancing and protecting the environment.
The new Houzz People’s Choice Award was presented to the Ledden Palimeno Landscape Company for outstanding water feature. The company was selected by Houzz’s online audience and chosen from among the 2016 Awards of Excellence landscape projects.
Additionally, nine companies were recognized for having the highest percentage of Landscape Industry Certified staff, and three companies were recognized for having the greatest number of newly certified staff in 2017. Click here for a complete list of award winners.
The awards dinner was sponsored by Caterpillar, and Landscapes 2017 was sponsored by John Deere at the platinum level, Caterpillar at the gold level and Bayer at the silver level.
