|

NALPThe National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) partnered with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Alliance to launch the 10-hour OSHA Construction Course for the Landscape Industry.

“We are pleased to have created this industry-specific 10-hour course that will provide comprehensive job site safety training that would be beneficial to all landscape industry companies,” said NALP CEO Sabeena Hickman.

The course—offered as landscape industry specific for the first time—provides basic training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of workplace hazards in addition to information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities and filing a complaint.

The courses are taught by OSHA-authorized trainers, and attendees will receive a wallet card and certificate upon completion.

The first course will be held at the NALP office in Fairfax, Va., on Feb. 7 and 8 and will be presented by NALP Safety Advisor, Sam Steel, Ph.D. The course will also be given at Chattahoochee Technical College in Acworth, Ga., on Feb. 22-23.

Additionally, companies can have the course presented at their location for up to 30 participants.

Courses are open to everyone in the industry at a cost of $199 for NALP members and $299 for nonmembers.
