JCB released its new 3CX Compact Backhoe Loader. It is 35 percent smaller than the standard model 3CX but designed to maintain the same power and speed, the company said.

“With the 3CX compact, JCB has combined over 60 years of backhoe loader expertise and market leadership into a machine that delivers all of the versatility, productivity and ease-of-use of our market-leading 3CX compact, with even more maneuverable dimensions,” said JCB Chief Innovation and Growth Officer Tim Burnhope. “Its small footprint and incredible all-around visibility are perfect for working in congested urban areas. It is easy and intuitive to use, has great mobility and maneuverability, and with pilot controls, will suit operators of both backhoes and excavators.”

Key features of the 3CX compact include:

  • A 6-foot, 3-inch wide, 9-foot high design;
  • A 25 mph hydrostatic transmission;
  • Pilot controls and hydraulics delivering 19 percent more flow, according to JCB;
  • 4-wheel steering, providing a 19-inch turning radius;
  • A choice of 2CX and skid-steer hitches plus an excavator quick-hitch; and
  • A low-emission, Tier 4 Final JCB Diesel Kohler engine, delivering 74 horsepower.

JCB’s LiveLink telematics tracking and monitoring system comes standard with the 3CX Compact Backhoe Loader. It allows the owner to monitor the machine’s performance and tracks a machine’s location in the event of machine theft.
