Former Brickman exec Bogan named TruGreen LandCare CEO

|

Ijamsville, Md.-based TruGreen LandCare appointed Michael Bogan as CEO, effective Nov. 3. Bogan succeeds Vidu Kulkarni, who steps down as CEO following a three-year term.

Bogan spent 23 years with The Brickman Group before starting a consulting business in 2013. During his tenure at Brickman, he was involved with both organic and acquisition growth opportunities.

“This is a great opportunity to join an industry leader and work with a dedicated and talented team to unlock our tremendous upside potential,” Bogan said. “I look forward to building on the current momentum and performing great work for our customers while creating the premier place to work in the industry. I learned early on in my career to worry about being the best, not the biggest, and that will be our focus.”

Ronald Edmonds, a mergers and acquisitions consultant with The Principium Group, said bringing Bogan on board is a significant step for the company. “Mike is one of top operational (and acquisition) executives in the industry,” he said. “He brings a great deal of credibility and access to a huge network.”

Los Angeles-based private investment firm Aurora Capital Group bought TruGreen Landcare from ServiceMaster in early 2011. Kulkarni became CEO in December 2011. He will remain on the company’s board.

“On behalf of the board, we are excited to have someone of Mike’s caliber join the team and are confident in his abilities to lead the company into its next phase of growth,” said Steven Smith, a member of the TruGreen board of directors. “Vidu has done a terrific job leading and turning around TruGreen–he has built a strong team, improved productivity and financial performance, and returned the business to organic growth. We all recognize the incredible market opportunity in front of TruGreen, and are confident that Mike and the team, with the full support of the board, will further accelerate the company’s growth to elevate and expand the TruGreen LandCare brand.”

TruGreen LandCare has 51 branches in 16 states.
