As a LandOpt contractor, Esterline Landscape obtained exclusive license rights for three territories in Central Florida: Orlando, Tampa and Sarasota.

The full-service landscape design and irrigation company is the second multi-location contractor in Florida—GreenEarth Landscape Services has two locations along the panhandle coast.

Esterline Co-owners Dan Esterline and Henry Turner have high hopes for Esterline to be a more efficient and profitable company under the LandOpt system.

“Ultimately, we reached the conclusion that three locations were necessary to help us balance our volume of work,” Esterline said. “Having been part of a family-owned landscape business for most of my life, I have seen first-hand how a company with multiple locations—each operating in a different manner—can struggle. Establishing uniformity in processes and systems right out of the gate will ultimately fuel our future growth. This approach gives everyone accountability and the metrics necessary to succeed.”

In terms of the company’s future growth, Esterline said: “In three years, I expect to hit specific revenue and profitability goals at each of these three locations. After that, our focus will be on replicating that success by adding a new market every two years.”

LandOpt will provide on-site coaching, role-specific training and peer networking to the company for general managers to manage day-to-day operations, while the ownership team focuses on overall company growth and profitability, as well as future expansion.

“Without question, this ‘decentralized’ model will allow us to improve our responsiveness,” Esterline said. “The management team at each location will have their finger on the pulse of the community. They will have access to local resources and, overall, will be better able to meet the needs of the customers in a more timely and efficient manner.”
