Companies in the News: LegacyScapes, Douglas Dynamics and DeMelo Bros. Landscaping

|

Cherry Lake Tree Farm and LegacyScapes took part in Florida’s Agriculture Literature Day, an initiative helping to make agriculture accessible and exciting to young minds across the state. More than 250 kindergarteners gathered as employees of the two companies read them books, taught them lessons and donated azaleas, which would help the students practice agriculture at home.

The Milwaukee Business Journal named Douglas Dynamics the third fastest-growing company in Wisconsin in 2015. This was the third consecutive year Douglas Dynamics was included on the list. In 2014, it ranked second, and in 2013, it ranked first. The Milwaukee Business Journal compiled the list using publically available financial statements and reports, comparing growth between 2013 and 2015 fiscal years.

DeMelo Brothers Landscaping is celebrating its 40th year in operation. The Marstons Mills, Mass.-based company was started by Jose DeMelo and is now co-owned by his son and daughter Rob DeMelo and Lisa DeMelo-Lamminen, who took over in 2001. It employs 20-25 people and offers a full slate of outdoor services.
