The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is calling for input on a new standard, S623, Landscape Plant Water Use. The new document would standardize the ways in which plant water requirements are quantified for landscape purposes.
The public comment period ends Nov. 15, and a draft of the standard and comment template are downloadable from ASABE.org.
ASABE has more than 240 standards currently in publication. Conformance to ASABE standards is voluntary, except where required by state, provincial or other governmental requirements, and the documents are developed by consensus in accordance with procedures approved by the American National Standards Institute.
