RightPlantz.com launched with the mission to help gardeners, improve public visibility for landscape contractors and help increase sales for garden centers.

RightPlantz.com is a collaboration between Bruce Allentuck and his daughter Tara Allentuck. Bruce Allentuck is president and owner of Allentuck Landscaping Co., a residential design/build and maintenance landscape company that has served the Washington D.C. metro area for 30 years. Tara Allentuck is a landscape architect and recent graduate of Virginia Tech. She works in urban gardening in Pittsburgh, Pa. Both share the title of “Co-Chief Plant Geek.“

“We realized some time ago that home gardeners lack the confidence in selecting plants that will thrive in their gardens and offer the characteristics they wanted,” said Bruce Allentuck. “Conversely, garden centers face the problem of not being able to hire enough knowledgeable staff to help gardeners with their selections. RightPlantz.com strives to solve both problems. Connecting landscape contractors was a natural addition to the project.”

RightPlantz.com offerings include:

  • The “Find Plantz” function, which narrows down choices to a few site conditions and plant characteristics and matches members with several plant options that fit their desires.
  • “Be Inspired” showcases the work of landscape pros from around the country.
  • “Learning Center” is full of gardening tutorials.
  • “Gardener’s Forum” is a channel for gardeners and landscape pros to help each other with garden problems and challenges.
  • “Garden Center Connector” allows gardeners to send a list of the plants that interest them to their local garden center, acting as a starting point for a potential transaction.

RightPlantz.com is actively seeking landscape professionals and garden center operators to be a part of the RightPlantz community.
