The Toro Co. announced the compatibility of its SMRT Logic product with Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices.

“More and more, outdoor spaces are seen as an extension of our home’s living space,” said Phil Burkart, vice president for Toro’s irrigation and lighting businesses. “It seems only natural that customers would expect to have the same technology available for their outdoor spaces as they do for their indoor spaces. Adding home connectivity enables Toro to provide a single platform for irrigation and outdoor lighting that is simple and easy to use.”

Launched last year, SMRT Logic enables customers to control their irrigation, outdoor landscape lighting and other landscape features through their smartphone, tablet or computer.

It uses proprietary technology to enable mobile device connection without having to access a wireless network and provides a secure platform for operation by either the homeowner or landscape professional from anywhere.
