FMC promoted Maureen Thompson to commercial director and Tom Wharton to national sales manager for North America Professional Solutions, which comprises the company’s Turf & Ornamental and Structural Pest Solutions business segments. Previously, Thompson was business manager for Turf & Ornamental Solutions and first joined FMC in 1995, holding numerous positions in sales, account and sales management in various market segments. Most recently, Wharton was the regional sales manager and key account manager for FMC’s Professional Solutions group. He joined FMC in 2005 as a territory business manager. Wharton is expected to play a leadership role in expanding the Structural Pest Control and Turf & Ornamental markets, FMC said.

The National Plant Board honored Craig Regelbrugge, AmericanHort senior vice president for industry advocacy and research, with the Outstanding Partnership Award at the Plant Board’s annual meeting, Aug. 3-6. Regelbrugge has collaborated with the Plant Board for over 25 years. He represented the horticulture industry in numerous initiatives to improve federal and state plant health programs and to harmonize plant pest quarantine efforts such as the Japanese beetle, the organization said. Regelbrugge led the effort to publish the first nationwide summary of each state’s plant quarantine and shipping requirements.

Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience, added Case Medlin and Harry Quicke to the Bayer Stewardship Team, a group that promotes environmental stewardship in the professional and residential environments. Medlin brings more than 20 years of experience, serving as a field development representative at DuPont’s Crop Protection division and as a professor at Purdue University and Oklahoma State University. Medlin’s new role will be Great Plains stewardship manager. Quicke joins the Bayer Stewardship Team from BASF, where he was a technical specialist in agriculture business. In that role, Quicke was responsible for a portfolio of more than 35 products including herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, nitrogen stabilizers and biologicals. Quicke will serve as Western Stewardship Manager.

Redexim Turf Products, the factory direct store based in Fenton, Mo., added Scott Grego as territory sales manager for the Houston, Texas, area. Grego has 20 years of experience in the industry, working in golf course management and in a sports management position at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas.

WinField Professional Products Group (PPG) promoted John Smith to marketing director, Scott Gault to national sales director and Aaron Johnsen to director of regional sales and proprietary products. Smith joined PPG as a marketing manager in 2011 and previously held finance roles at Ecolab and Thomson Reuters. With 30 years of industry experience, Scott has served in various roles, including territory manager, warehouse manager and, most recently, PPG regional sales director. Johnsen’s industry experience ranges from sales to research, including several published articles. He holds a B.S. in Horticulture with a Turfgrass Science emphasis, an M.S. in Applied Plant Science and is currently working on an MBA.
