In the March 2016 Editor’s Note, Editor Marisa Palmieri highlighted an approach LM columnist Mel Kleiman recommends for recruiting new employees: the recruiting card.

Potential employees are all around you, he says. Owners and managers struggling to find good workers should create these cards and hand them out whenever they receive good service.

Recruiting cards are the same size as a business card. In addition to your name, title and company logo, they say, “I appreciate your great service! We’re looking for people just like you to be part of the (company name) team. If you’d like to explore employment opportunities with us, please contact me at (email) or (phone number). And, by all means, keep up the good work!”
