Kawasaki to stop offering handheld power products by year’s end

|

Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. says it will no longer make equipment for its handheld power product line, which includes string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, hedge clippers, an edger and a multi-task series used by lawn and garden professionals.

The company’s Engines and Power Products division told its dealers that production of the Kawasaki-branded equipment would stop at the end of this year. It will continue to implement programs and promotions that had previously been announced for the 2013 calendar year, however.

Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. says it intends to honor after-sales responsibilities for products purchased before the end of this year. All service and warranty support programs will remain in force for products ordered before the end of this year, including the stocking of parts needed to satisfy claims for the life of the standard product warranty.

Exiting the handheld power products business will allow Kawasaki and its dealer network to focus on its core business, premium 4-cycle engines, which have been the mainstay of its operations and will continue with greater emphasis, the company says.
