BrightView acquires landscape maintenance division of California-based Marina

|

BrightViewBrightView purchased the landscape maintenance division of Marina Landscape, a landscape maintenance company located in Anaheim, Calif. Terms of the deal, which was finalized on Jan. 1, were not disclosed.

Marina is No. 20 on the LM150 list of top-generating firms with $64 million in 2015 revenue.

“We have worked for decades to build up our maintenance business, and we are gratified that a company like BrightView recognizes and values the commitment to our clients, employees and the industry,” said Marina Landscape Maintenance Vice President Marty Stowell. “BrightView and Marina share many of the same values, including an unwavering commitment to our clients and to the safety, well-being and career advancement of team members.”

Marina’s landscape maintenance division will eventually rebrand as BrightView, but there is no timeframe for the rebranding, said Fred Jacobs, vice president of communications and public affairs at BrightView.

Marina services 200 properties in Orange County, Los Angeles, Inland Empire and Northern California. The company employs nearly 400 people, and all employees and crews will remain with the company throughout the transition, Jacobs said. Stowell will also stay on as vice president and general manager.

“This is a great addition to the BrightView family and one that will help us strengthen our presence in the key Southern California market,” said BrightView CEO Andrew Masterman, who was appointed in November. “Like BrightView, Marina has a long tradition of innovation and client service and we are delighted to welcome them into our company. We are continuing to seek out acquisition opportunities with landscape maintenance companies that share our dedication to clients and team members.”

The company said it will continue to look for opportunities to acquire landscape maintenance companies.

BrightView is the result of a 2014 merger between industry giants Brickman Group and ValleyCrest Landscape Cos. The company is No. 1 on the LM150 list of top revenue-generating firms with more than $2 billion in 2015 revenue.
