Briggs & Stratton expands mower manufacturing capacity

|

Briggs & Stratton Corp. will move production of its commercial turf operations from its current facility in Munnsville, N.Y., to neighboring Sherrill, N.Y., to expand capacity. The Munnsville, N.Y., facility manufactures commercial zero-turn mowers under the Ferris and Snapper Pro brands and consumer zero-turn mowers under its Simplicity and Snapper brands.

“This expansion is the result of strong sales growth of commercial products the company has achieved over the past several years and will position it well for continued future growth,” said Harold Redman, senior vice president and president of turf and consumer products. “The increase in manufacturing will result in approximately 50 additional production employees in addition to our existing great workforce once production is at capacity.”

In addition to its Munnsville facility, the company also leases warehouse space at another facility in Sherrill that will be combined together into the newly leased facility in Sherrill. The company anticipates some production to begin in spring 2018 and will be fully operational in the spring of 2019.
