Bob-Cat releases new line of commercial zero-turns

|

Johnson Creek, Wis.-based Bob-Cat unveiled a new line of commercial mowers for the 2019 season to dealers, distributors and the media at a launch event in Milwaukee on Aug. 21.

Dubbed the “Next Generation Series,” it includes five new models: the Predator-Pro 7000, ProCat 6000MX, ProCat 6000, ProCat 5000 and QuickCat 4000.

“Beyond the new features and design, this is more than a product launch; it’s the launch of who we are as a brand and company,” said Ron Scheffler, senior product manager for Bob-Cat. “We’re doing everything we can to empower our commercial customers to be fiercely independent, to pave their own way. And these mowers, with their improved comfort, performance and serviceability, do just that.”

At the launch, Scheffler added that the new mowers focus on cut quality, durability and ease of maintenance—all qualities requested by customers.

Along with a new look, Bob-Cat officials said the series features improved serviceability, making it easier to reach parts for maintenance. The Predator-Pro 7000 and ProCat 6000MX include a new hitch and a swing-away back bumper, providing full access to the engine.

Bob-Cat also redesigned the operator controls, angling them towards the operator seat for ease of use and to eliminate operator fatigue. The handles have been redesigned with an almond-shaped, ergonomic grip and a single-bolt height adjustment. In addition, the seat features weight and comfort adjustments, the manufacturer said.

Finally, the new ride-on commercial mower models will all have the Bob-Cat top-line AirFX mowing deck. Introduced at the 2017 GIE+EXPO, the AirFX deck features a bullnose design for increased airflow and vacuum lift, for an unmatched quality of cut. Previously, this deck was only available on two Bob-Cat models.

In addition, the Predator-Pro 7000 and ProCat 6000MX offer the following features.

The Predator-Pro 7000 includes:

  • A Kawasaki FX1000V engine;
  • speeds up to 19 mph and all-new 26-inch Zero-T drive tires; and
  • a larger dual-tubed frame for increased durability on rough terrain.

ProCat 6000MX offers:

  • A V-twin barrel Kawasaki FX850V engine;
  • ground speeds up to 12 mph with 24-inch Zero-T drive tires;
  • HG ZT-4400 transaxles or HG pumps with HG wheel motors; and
  • a larger dual-tubed frame for increased durability on rough terrain.

A field day at the Schiller Grounds Care facility in Johnson Creek, Wis., followed the mower unveiling.

Bob-Cat dealers had the opportunity to test out the new mowers, tour the Schiller Grounds Care factory and take a look at other products produced by Schiller, such as Ryan aerators and the Little Wonder ProVac SI leaf and debris vacuum.
